THE THING™ — RETURN & REFUND POLICY

Last Updated: October 5, 2026

At The Thing™, we stand behind the quality of our products and want our customers to know exactly what to expect when purchasing from us.

This Return & Refund Policy applies to purchases made directly through The Thing™ and is intended to operate in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws and regulations in Puerto Rico, including regulations administered by the Puerto Rico Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO).

1. Returns

For products that are not defective, damaged, or incorrectly fulfilled, customers may request a return within 14 calendar days of delivery.

To qualify for a voluntary return, the product must be:

  • Unused and unfired.
  • Unmodified.
  • Undamaged.
  • In its original condition.
  • In its original packaging, when applicable.
  • Accompanied by the order number or other proof of purchase.

Products that have been loaded, fired, used, altered, modified, or damaged after delivery generally do not qualify for a voluntary return.

This voluntary 14-day return policy does not limit any rights a consumer may have under applicable Puerto Rico law regarding defective products or products that fail to conform to representations made at the time of sale.

2. Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Products

Customers should inspect their order promptly upon delivery.

If a product arrives damaged or defective, or if you receive an incorrect product, please contact The Thing™ as soon as reasonably possible at info@sendthething.com.

Please provide:

  • Your full name.
  • Order number.
  • Description of the problem.
  • Photographs or video showing the issue, when reasonably available.

After reviewing the claim, The Thing™ will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.

Our return policy does not eliminate applicable consumer rights when merchandise is defective, fails to conform to representations that induced the purchase, or is not fit for its intended purpose.

3. 3D-Printed Products

The Thing™ products are manufactured using 3D-printing processes.

Because of the nature of 3D printing, products may display minor cosmetic characteristics such as:

  • Visible layer lines.
  • Small surface variations.
  • Minor differences in texture or finish.
  • Slight color variations.
  • Minor cosmetic differences between production batches.

These characteristics are inherent to the manufacturing process and are not necessarily considered defects when they do not materially affect the product's intended function, performance, or conformity with its advertised description.

Nothing in this section limits rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable Puerto Rico law.

4. Used, Loaded, or Fired Products

Because The Thing™ products are intended for recreational airsoft use, products that have been loaded, fired, used, intentionally damaged, improperly stored, or modified are generally not eligible for voluntary returns.

However, The Thing™ will not deny a legally required remedy solely because a product was used when an alleged manufacturing defect or nonconformity could only reasonably become apparent through normal use.

Claims involving used products will be evaluated individually based on the circumstances and applicable law.

5. Refunds

Once an authorized return is received, The Thing™ will inspect the returned product.

If the return is approved, the applicable refund will generally be issued to the original payment method.

Please allow additional processing time for your bank, credit card issuer, or payment provider to post the refund after it has been issued.

For voluntary returns unrelated to a defect, incorrect order, shipping issue for which The Thing™ is responsible, or another legally protected reason, original shipping charges are generally non-refundable.

Nothing in this section limits any refund, replacement, repair, or other remedy required under applicable law.

6. Return Shipping

For voluntary returns where The Thing™ is not responsible for the reason for the return, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

If the return results from an incorrect product, verified manufacturing defect, shipping damage for which The Thing™ is responsible, or another circumstance requiring a remedy under applicable law, The Thing™ will provide appropriate return instructions and address applicable shipping costs as required.

Customers should use a trackable shipping method when returning merchandise.

The Thing™ is not responsible for return shipments that are lost or damaged in transit when shipping was arranged independently by the customer.

Do not return merchandise without first contacting us at info@sendthething.com for return instructions.

7. Final Sale, Custom, and Promotional Products

Products clearly identified before purchase as any of the following may not qualify for voluntary returns:

  • Final Sale items.
  • Clearance products.
  • Custom-made products.
  • Personalized products.
  • Prototypes.
  • Promotional or giveaway products.

A Final Sale or similar designation does not waive any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be waived under Puerto Rico law.

8. Order Cancellations

Customers may request cancellation of an order before it enters production, processing, or shipment.

Once an order has entered production or processing, cancellation may no longer be possible.

Orders that have already shipped cannot be canceled. If eligible, they must instead be handled through the return process described in this policy.

To request a cancellation, contact info@sendthething.com as soon as possible and include your order number.

Submitting a cancellation request does not guarantee that the order can be canceled before processing or shipment.

9. Misuse, Modification, and Improper Handling

The Thing™ is not responsible for product damage resulting from:

  • Misuse or abuse.
  • Unauthorized modifications.
  • Improper installation or loading.
  • Improper storage.
  • Improper handling.
  • Use with incompatible equipment.
  • Failure to follow product instructions or warnings.
  • Use outside the product's intended purpose.

Customers are responsible for using The Thing™ products appropriately and following applicable product instructions, airsoft field rules, facility requirements, equipment manufacturer instructions, and safety requirements.

Nothing in this section excludes liability or consumer remedies that cannot legally be waived.

10. Shipping Damage

If a package appears damaged upon delivery, customers should photograph the shipping package and its contents before discarding any packaging materials.

Contact info@sendthething.com and provide your order number, photographs, and a description of the damage.

The Thing™ may request additional information reasonably necessary to investigate the shipment or process a claim with the shipping carrier.

Customers should retain the original packaging until the claim has been resolved.

11. Policy Abuse and Fraudulent Claims

The Thing™ reserves the right to investigate return or refund requests reasonably suspected of involving fraud, abuse, product substitution, intentional damage, or misrepresentation.

This provision does not affect legitimate consumer claims or any rights available under applicable law.

12. Changes to This Policy

The Thing™ may update this Return & Refund Policy periodically to reflect changes to our operations, products, or applicable legal requirements.

Unless otherwise required by law, the policy applicable to an order will be the version in effect at the time the order was placed.
